First, my coffee maker/toaster/computer broke down. Then I spilled/tripped on/got stuck in my coffee/some mud/traffic. My boss was angry/gave me a mountain of work/told me I was fired. To top it all off, I lost/dropped/misplaced my wallet/phone/keys. By the end of the day, I was just exhausted/frustrated/ready to scream.
